The Campus SaVE Act: Targeting Sexual Violence
Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act and the approval of the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (better known as the Campus SaVE Act) has recently been signed into law. The Act will go into effect March 7, 2014. Until then, campuses are working to understand and comply with the 250+ page legislation.
Campus sexual violence continues to be a challenge for most educators. Campus SaVE hopes to address sexual violence with new provisions, broader definitions and reporting requirements, new response procedures and improved victims’ services. Most institutions will need to revamp their existing programs and procedures to come into compliance. Some highlights of the new law that we’ll be covering in the webinar:
