Hazard Communications
Employees are exposed to chemicals that can injure then and make them sick. The American industrial workplace is home to over 575,000 chemical products, with hundreds of new chemicals being introduced every year. Over 32 million workers run the risk of exposure to one or more chemical hazards every day.
This course covers the OSHA “Right-to-Know” laws regarding "Hazard Communications" for employees in certain workplaces where chemicals are present. It includes an interactive tutorial on how to interpret the general concepts of toxicology, label hazard rating system details, and interpreting Material Data Safety Sheets. It also provides an overview of how to protect yourself while working with hazardous chemicals, including containment and confinement control measures and using personal protective equipment.
