Workplace Answers' multi-year relationships with its dedicated customer base
have allowed us to become both a training partner and an ongoing legal
and technology resource for those customers. The following are examples of
unique training challenges faced by three specific Workplace Answers'
customers, and examples of the innovative processes we developed to exceed
their training expectations.
A Manufacturing Customer's Success Story
Training Challenges:
A Fortune 100 manufacturing company, with over 55,000
employees, sought to deploy "unlawful harassment" and "diversity" training
uniformly and efficiently over its diverse work force – a massive and
formidable task. Its employee population was based in hundreds of locations
around the United States, and included remote production facilities, sales
satellite offices, administrative offices, and corporate headquarters.
The Workplace Answers' Personalized Solution:
Workplace Answers designed highly personalized content that related to
employees' unique work environments in sawmills and production facilities, as
well as in office settings. For training that needed to be conducted in-person,
in "crew meetings," Workplace Answers developed training presentations and
train-the-trainer materials that were consistent with the customer's existing
training coordination system's Web-based programs. Workplace Answers used
leading-edge technology to provide seamless deployment of Web-based courses
over a wide variety of web platforms – including dial-up networks – that
provided easy integration into the customer's existing system.
The Result – Customer's Expectations Exceeded:
The customer's CEO has received "rave reviews" from employees regarding the
effectiveness of the training programs and the enjoyment of employees taking
them. Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from users and
administrators, the courses are currently being deployed to all Canadian
provinces, and will soon be rolled out in the customer's facilities in Mexico,
New Zealand, and Australia.
A Telecommunications Customer's Success Story
Training Challenges:
A fast-growing, high-turnover telecommunications firm with hundreds of small
locations around the country needed to implement a comprehensive, nationwide
"unlawful harassment" training program for approximately 30,000 employees. Some
locations, however, were retail sites with only five to ten employees, making
it both difficult and expensive for the company to deploy in-person training to
those sites. The company also faced the challenge of integrating the message
delivered to their retail sites with those that were delivered to employees in
other locations such as customer service facilities, call centers, distribution
warehouses, and corporate offices.
The Workplace Answers' Personalized Solution:
Workplace Answers responded to the customer's specific concerns about the
importance of branding and course personalization by creating a process that
would reflect both the employer's corporate culture and the employee's
environment. Included in the process were customized illustrations that allowed
employees to "see" themselves in the training courses. Workplace Answers also
ensured deployment compatibility with existing call-center applications,
protected workforce scheduling, and created a personalized login system for
each employee by using employee identification numbers.

A Financial Services Customer's Success Story
Training Challenges:
A prestigious international financial services company sought Workplace Answers'
training expertise in 2002 to meet the organization's training needs in
"unlawful harassment" and "workplace violence prevention." However, over the
years, this customer's training needs evolved: first, when training needed to
be expanded to include the global employee base; and second, when
Sarbanes-Oxley requirements necessitated the development of additional
standardized and customized courses.
The Workplace Answers' Personalized Solution:
Workplace Answers met the customer's initial training needs early on in the
relationship and has since grown into a training resource, and partner, for the
company. Workplace Answers now provides courses created specifically for the
customer in areas of business ethics, codes of conduct, data security, new hire
orientation, and an employee handbook course – most of which have been deployed
globally.
The Result – Customer's Expectations Exceeded:
This customer has returned to Workplace Answers yet again to create a strategic,
long-term "employee learning track." Additionally, as this customer migrates to
an internal Learning Management System they have called on Workplace Answers to
provide seamless course integration. Employee training Certificates of
Completion are sent directly to each employee's E-Personnel File through their
internal LMS. Also, Workplace Answers is in its second global deployment to the
customer's facilities in Asia, Latin America, Canada, Central Europe, the
Middle East, and Africa.
